Kenji Yamamoto, Professor
Head of Research Institute for Bioresources and Biotechnology
The Research Institute for Bioresources and Biotechnology is a unique facility at Ishikawa Prefectural University that carries out leading-edge biotechnology research, and has released a large number of excellent research results at a world-class level to date. In addition to providing lectures and training in collaboration with all three departments of our university, we also actively conduct joint research with other universities and external research institutions. Our research institute consists of four laboratories and the DNA Application Technology Education Center, with more than 80 people comprising teaching staff, researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, technicians, and interns. We also work with the neighboring Ishikawa University Cooperation Business Incubator i-BIRD to proactively promote research and development in collaboration with local companies. Our institute conducts extremely comprehensive research from the genetic level, right up to issues dealing with environmental problems on a global scale, gathering significant external attention.
