Introduction to Genetics
Objective:
Fundamental knowledge on life sciences, such as gene substance and function, is not only important as a basis of natural science, but also is intimately related to all disciplines including human and social sciences as well as our daily life. In this lecture, we target understanding fundamental life sciences related to genetics as a basis of various subject areas such as plant cell technology, plant genetics and plant nutrition.

Attainment targets:
・To be able to explain the substance and characteristics of gene at molecular level.
・To be able to explain the mechanism of gene expression on the basis of chemical properties of DNA, RNA and protein.
・To be able to explain the preservation and transmission of genetic traits at cellular and individual levels.
